Request Donations with Display Cards

Organizations like Children’s Miracle Network and Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation raise funds through the sale of display cards at grocery checkouts and other outlets.

Jim Armbruster, a 60 year-old businessman began walking on May 6th and will walk from Illinois to California. He is raising money for Marklund, a charity that provides care for children and adults with developmental disabilities.

Armbruster is personally connected to Marklund. His son, Nathan is developmentally disabled and is a resident of Marklund. Armbruster has donated both time and resources over the years to Marklund.

His campaign called “California or Bust for Marklund’s Kids” will end when he reaches the Golden Gate Bridge. He anticipates reaching the bridge the third week of October. Armbruster travels an average of twenty miles each day.

At night he sleeps in a motor coach driven by a friend. He walks a route during the day which follows major interstates. People can follow Armbruster’s journey by visiting his website to make a donation or to cheer him on.

So far he has raised $26,694. He hopes to raise more but he has not set a specific goal to target.

You could create unusual backgrounds, wooden backgrounds with head cutouts or photos with the stars and have look a likes and costumed characters in attendance at certain times. The “head shave challenge” is a fundraiser that has been very successful with schools, teens and church youth groups. The group is challenged to raise money for the cause and if they reach a certain amount, then an adult will have their head shaved. You can pull in some easy cash for your charity with a Krispy Kreme donut fundraiser. One of the easiest ways to raise money is to sell donuts at your workplace. (Be sure to request permission from the employer before proceeding.)

If there is no Krispy Kreme store near you, just go to the best local donut shop. Ask if they will give you a reduced price on several dozen donuts. Read more… »
