Cycling Blogger Introduction

Hello everyone,

My name is Lynn Smythe. I am the new cycling blogger for the Charity Mile website. I’m very excited to be here! Let me tell you a little bit about myself.

MY BIKES
Although I own own four different types of bikes, a Nirve beach cruiser, a Cannondale full suspension mountain bike and two road bikes, I am mostly a roadie. No one will ever mistake me for a hammerhead. My preferred speed of travel while riding my road bike is in the 18-22 MPH range, with occasional bursts up to 26-32 MPH.

CHARITY BIKE RIDES
My husband and I participate in various charity road bike events including the MS150, Frank Stark Celebration Ride, Tour de Cure and century rides with the Leukemia Societies Team In Training program. This year my husband is coaching, and I am mentoring the Palm Beach Team in Training cycle team, as they prepare for the 20th Intracoastal Century Ride. This is a 100 mile road bike ride that takes place in Cocoa Beach, Florida on October 26th.

TIME TRIALS
In February of 2008, I got a brand new Trek Madone 6.5 WSD road bike. At only 14.1 pounds, she is super fast! I have even started to do a few time trials on my new Trek, although I would like to eventually buy or build a dedicated time trial bike. My old road bike, a 2006 Cannondale Synapse II, might be brought back into service and turned into a time trial bike. To see my complete schedule of cycling events I plan on participating in, visit my SponsorHouse profile page.

MY OTHER INTERESTS
My day job entails writing freelance copy for different print publications and online content providers. In my free time I like to play with beads, art clay silver and fused glass. I also like growing my own organic herbs and vegetables, and coming up with unique recipe ideas using produce picked fresh from my garden.
