Fall Palm Beach Team in Training Events
Team in Training is currently recruiting participants for the fall 2009 season. Team in Training is the largest fund raising program for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Team in Training helps to train beginner through advanced athletes to train for a marathon, triathlon, hike or century bike ride. In return, each Team in Training participant pledges to raise a certain amount of money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
Taking a Season Off
My husband and I are currently training with the spring Team in Training cycle team for the Tahoe century ride, which takes place on June 7. The end of the spring season overlaps with the beginning of the fall season so my husband and I won’t be participating in the fall season with our local Team in Training chapter.
It gets a bit overwhelming to keep training and raising money, for charity athletic events, on a year round basis. I have finally discovered that I’m not Super Women, so I have to know when to take a break. My husband is one of the cycle team coaches, and coaches aren’t required to fund raise for Team in Training. However, as a cycle team member, I am required to raise a minimum of $4,800 while training for the Tahoe ride, AKA America’s Most Beautiful Bike Ride.

The Palm Beach chapter covers all of Palm Beach County, from Jupiter in the north, all the way to Boca Raton in the south. The South Florida chapter covers all of Broward and Miami/Dade county.
