To kick off the holiday season with a running (or walking) start, the Jingle Bell Run/Walk for Arthritis will be held on Saturday, December 1st in Mason City, Iowa at the Southbridge Mall.
Funds raised for the walk will benefit the Arthritis Foundation. Organizers aim to raise $15,000 from this year’s walk. Participants pay an entry fee of $25 and are asked to raise funds through pledges.
All participants are given jingle bells to tie to their shoelaces. Participants are encouraged to wear festive and merry holiday costumes and gear. Awards are given for the top finishers in the competitive runs, best fundraisers and also for best costumes.
The Jingle Bell Run/Walk will also be held in Quad Cities on Saturday, December 15th.
