More Fitness Marathon Benefits CARE

More Magazine & Fitness Magazine have partnered together to present the 6th annual More Fitness Marathon and Half Marathon. The race takes place on April 26 at 8 AM and starts in Central Park in NYC. The More Fitness Marathon benefits CARE.

About CARE
According to their website: “CARE is a leading humanitarian organization fighting global poverty. We place special focus on working alongside poor women because, equipped with the proper resources, women have the power to help whole families and entire communities escape poverty. Women are at the heart of CARE’s community-based efforts to improve basic education, prevent the spread of HIV, increase access to clean water and sanitation, expand economic opportunity and protect natural resources. CARE also delivers emergency aid to survivors of war and natural disasters, and helps people rebuild their lives.”

Additional Information
The full marathon is open to women 40 years old and older. The half marathon is open to women of all ages, walkers are also welcome to participate in the half marathon.

The Health & Wellness Expo takes place on April 24 & 25. Every runner receives an event t-shirt and finishers medal. Runner’s will also receive a one year subscription to either More Magazine or Fitness Magazine. Over 6,000 runners participated in the 2008 More Fitness Marathon.
