5K Run/Walk to Benefit Ovarian Cancer Research

The 2nd annual Pamela J. Wilcox 5k Run/Walk is taking place this Saturday, May 12th, 2007. All proceeds will benefit the Lynne Cohen Foundation for Ovarian Cancer Research.

According to event director Dawn Wilcox, “Last year we had about 105 participants for the run/walk. I am expecting at least 150 this year. This year we have received most of our revenue from sponsorships and registrations.”

The tribute funds go specifically to the research of a blood test to detect Ovarian cancer in its earliest stage. The race is being held in the small town of Corunna, Michigan at Hugh McCurdy Park. This year the race registration includes a t-shirt, pre-race refreshments, and a lunch buffet.
